TECAS Incentives

Our incentives for our TECAS program, we invented a library currency called TECAS, when a child reads a book for the first time and fills outs a questionnaire into their own book list, the library pays the child a “teca”, each week the “tecas” has to be banked once a month we hold a sale of items that have been donated to the library, this items includes school supplies, personal care supplies, toys and novelties. Items are priced in ‘Tecas” and the children may buy two items using their earned tecas currency to purchase them This program is very successful and encourages children to continue reading more.
